We've had our biggest week yet -- and yeah, ten orders may not sound like a lot to the likes of Amazon, but for our spunky little upstart biz, it's awesome.
TODAY, January 19, is the two-month anniversary of our Bard & Bloom storefront being live -- the learning curve for Shopify was intimidating at first, but I'm slowly figuring it out. And it is crazy how much integration is available with this app. Squarespace, I still love you for my bookish sites, but for selling? Yeah, I'm sold on Shopify.
(Side note: For those of you diving into the world of e-commerce, a colleague with one of my freelance clients told me about an app called TinySEO. Once installed on your Shopify store, it assists with tidying and optimizing meta descriptions, alt text, SEO, keywords, and images. It's not free, but it's amazing.)
Yaunna has gently scolded me that I have to stop dreaming up new products and focus on selling the ones we have. She's the voice of reason. Always has been. When she was little, it was a running joke about "Who's the mother and who's the child?" Still applies, all these years later.
With that said, we have added OR are in the process of adding the following:
~ Magnet frames and bars! Your "glimmer" magnets are not just for the fridge (looking at you, people with wood-faced appliances).
~ Magnetic vision boards -- Forget the old magazines and glue. Visualize your perfect new year!
~ Emergency CRATE TAGS for your furred/scaled traveling companions! Printed with all the pertinent info in the event of an emergency or accident, these are Yaunna's creation and they've turned out so awesome.
~ Mags for Mental Health -- a few are already up in the shop and I will be adding more often.
~ The Shakespeare Shoppe -- Yup, all Bard, all the time. What would you like us to make, my ladybirds?
~ Zippered linen book sleeves you can customize with your choice of image or design (I seriously cannot wait to make these!)

OK, well -- be good to each other this week. We're gonna need an extra helping of kindness and patience to go around as the inferno grows over the next little while. (I promised I would not talk politics or breaking news here. This is me keeping that promise. <--Wait, why do I sound like Jacob Black right there? Speaking of, have I ever told you about all our weird coincidences with the Twilight Saga movies? I should. It's weird.)
