A listicle to sprinkle some *zhuzh* on your existence! - Bard and Bloom

A listicle to sprinkle some *zhuzh* on your existence!

Amid the mayhem of day-to-day life, the idea machine in my brain’s basement continues to churn with ways to convince you, dearest reader, that Bard & Bloom is here to help you give the BESTEST presents to your most treasured humans this year—and that includes presents to yourself!

Lots of holidays upcoming—and lots of days that deserve to be celebrated just because they’re kind of uninteresting and boring, i.e., pretty much every Tuesday. {yawn}

For this week’s blog, I’ve compiled a list of 10 creative uses for our photo magnets. Choose from four different sizes and we do mix-and-match sets and YES, we have B2B (business-to-business) pricing. Email me for a price list! Huzzah, I say!

Off we go:

1. OK, duh—we’ll start with the fridge gallery: My mother was always really weird about having anything hanging on the fridge, so being the bratty rebel I am, my fridge is a literal gallery of cats and kids and memories and art and memes and Shakespeare quotes and Superman and Pippin’s dog shows.

2. Office motivation: Keep your bacon-earning buns inspired with a set of custom motivational phrases to hang on your office whiteboard, filing cabinets, or on one of our metal magnet bars perfect for your desk. We can do the NSFW stuff too, as long as you don’t blame us if it gets you into trouble with HR. (If Toby Flenderson comes into your office, just yell very loudly at him, Nooooooooo! Noooooo! No, God, nooooooooo!” and he should retreat. It worked for Michael Scott.*)

3. Writerly inspiration: Writers, I know the dread of staring at an empty page or waiting for your inbox to chime with a notification from an agent/editor/publisher who wants your precious work. Keep your chin up with tiny reminders on a metal magnet bar for your desk. Writing is awesome; publishing sucks (I mean, until you get a book deal or sell 30K books and hit a best-seller list or two and then it uh-maaaaaazing!). Until then, stay in the game with inspo magnets from the part of your heart that loves building worlds and throwing rocks at treed characters. (This one s mine . . .)

4. Speaking of writers and creatives: Have you seen how incredible book covers look as magnets? I’m in the process of making 2 x 3s for all my published novels so I can remind myself that I do, in fact, know how to write a whole book because I’ve done it before. (Also, I made a magnet of my favourite read so far this year. Check out Suzy’s amazing library of work!)

5. Locker love: Does your workplace have lockers where you store personal effects during your shift? Do you have a student who loves to decorate their middle or high school locker? Our custom photo magnets are an amazing way to keep those glimmers close and remind us why we’re working so bloody hard. ALSO, we can design custom locker magnets that work great for reminding your forgetful seventh grader to bring home their stanky gym clothes.

6. Toolboxes: Be that kid or pet parent who has photo magnets all over their Husky or Toosa toolbox. Start a trend that says you’re not afraid to be mushy and show the stuff that makes you all warm and fuzzy inside.

7. Party favours: I want to have a party JUST so I can give out custom photo magnets for each guest. What a cool idea! Terrific for baby and bridal showers, bachelorette parties, divorce parties, gals’ nights out, high school or family reunions—if you have something you want to commemorate or celebrate, we can make it into a lasting, multipurpose keepsake. You’ll remember the fun of the event and secure your takeout menus at the same time. I am nothing if not a multitasker.

8. Pet pics: Yes, as noted, our fridge has more photos of Pippin Took and the Tuxie Trio than it does humans. But beyond the fridge, we have these cool magnet frames that sit beautifully on a desktop or bookshelf for those places where you don’t have a fridge or magnetic whiteboard. You should totally celebrate your fur bebes by showcasing their cutest pics—all three million of them. We don’t judge; we only listen.

9. Travel memories: Remember that amazing white-sand beach, those otherworldly drinks that numbed your lips after the first couple sips? How about the kids screaming in delight and/or horror from your last trip to Disney? When you look at your overbooked carpool calendar or the many centimetres of snow still on the ground, these memories, made into custom photo magnets, will take you back, even if only for a few blissful seconds.

10. Business logo magnets: They say that a consumer has to see a business’s logo or advertisement at least seven times before they’re convinced to inquire or purchase. Think how quickly you could achieve those seven looks if your customers had YOUR LOGO hanging on their fridge. Need a plumber? Boom! It’s holding the permission slip for your kid’s trip to Science World. Need a root canal? Pop! It’s right there next to the custom photo magnet of Mr. Bubbles after his last trip to the groomer. Run a restaurant? Send us your QR code and we’ll turn it into a 2” x 2” magnet your eager customers can scan, click, and order to fill their bellies. Easy like pie. (Make mine apple, please.)

So, YES, we have a few ideas about how you can showcase the Good Stuff™ on the fridge, your office whiteboard, toolbox, locker, or on one of our custom magnet bars or frames. (Im actually going to try affixing a magnet bar to my cars dashboard so I can keep photo magnets and reminders at the fore. What? Im 53. I forget stuff sometimes.)

If you re looking for a unique gift for your BFF or for yourself, we’ve got you. Because in this current dystopian timeline, nurturing the glimmers is Job One

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need more inspiration.

(*I am sorry if you have never watched the American version of The Office. I reference it far too often. But I cant help it. Its either that or Schitts Creek because laughing is fun.)
